The 12th Annual Old-Time Fiddlers' and Bluegrass Convention with an Arts & Crafts Expo. This event will be held on Saturday, May 12th, 2005 from 12:00pm - until.... to be held at the "Clement Grove Arbor / Picnic Grounds" aka "Masonic Picnic Grounds" which located at 201 Poplar St. just behind the Brock Performing Arts Center at 622 North Main St. in Mocksville, NC 27028.

Band and Individual registration will start at 12 Noon. Registration for individuals will run until 2:30pm. Competition for the Individuals will begin at 2:30 pm and run until 5pm. Bands will continue register for competition until 6 pm with competition for bands beginning at 6 pm. Mark Case will be your MC.
This year's convention is going to have stiffer competition than ever. Last year, there were 72 bands and individuals competing at the convention representing 9 states. This year's convention will be even bigger than last year. There will be competition in the following categories:

Best Miscellaneous CategoryThere will be the annual "New Horizon" competition beginning at 5 pm. This competition will be beginning students from a local music school learning how to compete and become familiar with conventions to keep the Old-Time and Bluegrass tradition alive !!!
At 6pm bands and individuals from all over the country will be showing their musical abilities and passions in hopes to place at the convention. At intermission will be the “Bill Edward's Award” presented for the outstanding band or individual showing true talent in the world of Old-time & Bluegrass Music.
Cash Prizes and Ribbons totaling over $2,330.00 will be awarded to the winning contestants.
Admission for Adults will be $8.00, Children ages 6-12 $2.00 and under 6 get in FREE.
We are extending an invitation to all bands, individuals, buck dancers, etc. to compete.
Note: There will be no clogging competition.Food and drink concessions by the Lions Club will be inside the grounds (no food or drink will be allowed to be brought in).
Door prizes will be given away throughout the evening !!!
Craft Vendors will also be on-site all day selling their wares. This is becoming a shoppers paradise for those who are looking for unique crafts & great deals as well as hearing some great entertainment. Vendor Information
This event will be held "Rain or Shine" at the arbor (under cover) in the picnic grounds. Seating is available, however, a lawn chair is suggested for more comfort !!!All proceeds made from this event will benefit the Lions Club charities for the visually and hearing impaired in Davie County.
